- 1449 - first mention of PiĆa in writing
- 1513 - Polish king Sigismund the Old gives PiĆa Magdeburg civic rights by the decree of 4 March
- 1540 - first seal with the town's crest
- 1605 - PiĆa handed over as a "dowry" to the Queen Constance, wife of Sigismund III
- 1626 - most tragical fire of the town
- 1655 - PiĆa taken by the Swedish troops, destruction of the town
- 1709 - again taken and destroyed by the Swedes
- 1755 - StanisĆaw Staszic is bom
- 1772 - the 1st partition of Poland, PiĆa joints the Prussian state
- 1807-1815 - PiĆa within the borders of the Duchy of Warsaw
- 1834 - big fire of the town
- 1851 - the opening of the first railway line KrzyĆŒ - PiĆa – Bydgoszcz
- 1871 - installation of a gas grid and sewage system in the town
- 1875 - Polish Industrial Society is founded
- 1902 - the construction of the steam locomotive repair plant begins - then the Railway Stock Repair Plant
- 1914 - exclusion of PiĆa from the Chodzieski Poviat and the establishment of the Municipal Poviat
- 1915 - construction of the Albatros aeroplane plant's branch employing 2.500 people
- 1917 - 3 VIII the Polish choir "Halka" is founded
- 1918 - The rally of the delegates of the Polish People's Councils from the Nadnotecki region
- - by the decision of the Versailles Treaty, PiĆa remains within German borders
- 1922 - PiĆa is the seat of the authorities of Border Margraviate – Poznan Western Prussia province,
the vice-consulate of the Polish Republic is established in PiĆa, and as of 1930 a consulate
- 1923 - a branch of the Association of Poles in Germany is founded in PiĆa
- 1939 - outbreak of the Second World War, establishment of the camp for civil prisoners-of-war "Albatros"
- 1945 - after 173 years PiĆa is Polish again
- 1946 - the first session of the Municipal National Council
- 1951 - opening of the Stanistaw Staszic museum in a reconstructed house at Browarna Street
- 1955 - a geological-drilling company is founded, currently:
Poszukiwania Nafty i Gazu "Nafta" Sp. z o.o. (Oil and Gas Searching "Nafta" a limited liability company),
- 1958 - establishment of the PiĆa Light Bulb Factory "Lumen"
opening of a bridge over the River Gwda on the extension of Bydgoska Str. currently the Chrobrego Bridge
- 1960 - the first issue of "Rocznik Pilski" (PiĆa's Yearbook), whose tradition is continued later in the "Rocznik Nadnotecki" (Nadnotecki Yearbook)
- 1961 - the first edition of a monthly magazine "Ziemia Nadnotecka" (Nadnotecka Land), which is the continuation of "GĆos Pilski" (The Voice of PiĆa) published upon a social initiative
- 1974 - the town is decorated for great achievements in reconstruction and development with KrzyĆŒ Komandorski (Commander's Cross) with Gwiazda Orderu Odrodzenia Polski (the Star of Poland's Reconstruction Medal)
- 1975 - PiĆa becomes the capital of a newly established Voivodeship.
a 230 m overpass over the railway tracks nearby the central railway station is put into service
- 1977 - a modem communication artery is put into service - al. PowstaĆcĂłw Wielkopolskich, so called "trasa zĆotowska",
a park is established on the island on the Gwda River, in the town centre
- 1980 - construction of the JadwiĆŒyn housing estate begins
- 1982 - the Society of the Lovers of the Town of PiĆa is founded
- 1985 - unveiling of a monument commemorating the martyrdom of the prisoners from the "Albatros" camp
- 1988 - a new Voivodeship Hospital, whose construction started in 1977, begins its operations, currently a Specialist Hospital
- 1990 - two private secondary schools start their activities
- 1991 - ZSO "Polam" signs an agreement with "Philips" resulting in the establishment of the company Philips Lighting Poland S.A.,
Humanitarian Help Foundation is established, PiĆa's Chamber of Commerce is established
- 1992 - an electronic telephone exchange is put to use
- 1993 - the first PiĆa's Promotional Fair
- 1994 - signing friendship pacts of twin towns with Chatellerault (France) and Kronstadt (Russia),
Pilska Telewizja Kablowa "Pilsat" (PiĆa Cable Television "Pilsat") as the first company in Wielkopolska /Greater Poland/ is granted a licence for broadcasting television programmes in a cable network
- 1995 - a modem "Gwda" wastewater treatment plant is put into operation
establishment of branches of two higher education institutions: Cracovian Academy of Mining and Metallurgy and PoznaĆ Polytechnic
- 1996 - the Municipal Council adopts the first part of "Town Development Strategy - PiĆa 2000+".
signing agreements on mutual contacts, cooperation and friendship with German towns: Schwerin and Cuxhaven Higher School of Business established by Zachodniopomorska School of Business and Managers Education Institute starts its activity
- 1997 - a new seat of the Regional Museum is opened in the restored 19th century Italian villa that accommodated the Consulate of the Republic of Poland in 1934-39
- 1998 - first celebrations of the "Town's Day" commemorating the anniversary of the confirmation of Megdeburg civic rights for the town by Sigismund I Old
- 1999 - the town is a capital of the Land Poviat
unveiling of a stone commemorating the participants of the Greater Poland Uprising 1918/1919, at the junction of the streets: al. Powst. Wlkp. and al. Bydgoska
- 2000 - State Higher Vocational School in PiĆa starts its activity
the first apartment building of the PiĆa Social Housing Development Society is commissioned for use
- 2001 - a modern printing house of the company AGORA S.A. publisher of "Gazeta Wyborcza" is opened
opening of the second Philips - Philips Electronics holding's plant opening of a sports-exhibition hall by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre stadium
- 2002 - an integration Primary School No 12 is opened, located on the Podlasie housing estate, earmarked for handicapped children
- 2003 – starting of the video monitoring in the town
- 2004 – The Town Development Strategy for years 2005-2015 is passed
- 2005 – the end of the first stage of constructing the waterworks for PiĆa from Dobrzyca intake with the treating water station
- the Zygmunt Stary bridge is put into use
- 2006 – Adam Mickiewicz University out-of-town centre is set up in PiĆa
- 2007 – a gymnasium at Gimnazjum nr4 is built
- modernization of PiĆa’s Culture House - the end of building ĆrĂłdmiejska ring road segment: Ceglana street – BogusĆawskiego street
- 2008 – the end of building ĆrĂłdmiejska ring road subsequent segments: NiepodlegĆoĆci avenue – Wojska Polskiego avenue and 14 Lutego street – Kwiatowa street
- shopping centres CH TESCO and Kasztanowa shopping arcade are put into use - the start of the work on building Leisure and Shopping Centre in the area of PodchorÄ
ĆŒych – Kossaka streets (a complex with an aquapark)
